A: The College, established in December 1972, lies in the heart of central Marche, the hometown of the Italian Jesuit priest, Matteo Ricci, one of the founding figures of the Jesuit China Mission. The main campus sets around the Buonaccorsi Castle, an epitome of the classic Renaissance building, which provides a daily inspiration for the students there. The college currently enrolls about 1000 students, including 60 Chinese students. The college has a staff of 80 people and another 80 guest lecturers. Q:Are the teachers qualified for teaching Italian in the Bengbu College?
A:The language program consists of two terms with 600 study hours. In the first term, Chinese teachers with overseas language teaching experience will undertake the program. Native speaker of Italian will advance their language ability in the second semester.
Q:After the completion of the language program in Bengbu College, will the students meet the requirements for application? If not, what will they do?
A:Based on several years’ experiences, students who have studied 300 hours of Italian will obtain A2 level, which is the requirement of applying for VISA. Another 300 hours study will help them to obtain B2 level, which is more than enough for the application of the college.
If the students fail to pass the language A2 test, they can further their study from July to December, 2013 and enroll in the language program of the university in Italian, which is from March to June, 2014. After the completion of the course in September, they then study for their majors. Generally, the passing percentage of the A2 test is 90%. For those who fail the test, they still are eligible for application in the second year for their choosing course. Therefore, this program is a guaranteed program for students who want to study art in Italian.
